Assistant Sports Leader (14+)

Bromsgrove and Redditch Active Volunteering Opportunities (BRAVO)

Help in the running of sports sessions for young children alongside a Sports Coach by helping set up and teach young children about sports.


Sports Coach (16+)

Bromsgrove and Redditch Active Volunteering Opportunities (BRAVO)

A chance to run sports sessions and teach young children multiple sports activities after school.


Assistant Sports Coach (16+)

YMCA

Assistance in guidance and encouragement with children and young people in sports. Helping provide an atmosphere where they can reach their potential in sports, building confidence and self-esteem.


Receptionist (16+)

YMCA

Meet and greet guests at the front desk and sign visitors into Reception, escorting them to rooms. Also, you will assist residents with their post, legitimate telephone calls and signing out of various items.


YPlay Assistant (16+ for full volunteer, 14+ as a helper)

YMCA

A general short day-to-day care of babies and toddlers under 4. Meeting the needs of children from various backgrounds.


Gardening / Ground Maintenance Assistant (All ages)

Headless Cross Community Orchard

General gardening at a local orchard in Headless Cross, Redditch.


Dungeon Master (14+)

Bromsgrove Library

A volunteer to help run a popular afterschool Dungeons and Dragons club.


Lego master (14+)

Bromsgrove Library

A volunteer to help run a popular afterschool Lego club for children 4+.


Digital Champion (14+)

Bromsgrove Library

Help Library customers on a 1-1 basis with computers / tablets.


Soft Furnishings Volunteer (warehouse) (Under 18s if Parent accompanies them)

New Starts

Examining the large quantities of bedding, curtains, and clothes which are received as donations, sorting the unusable items into recycling, and the usable items into packs/pairs.


Warehouse Operative (Under 18s if Parent accompanies them)

New Starts

  • Loading furniture safely into the van.
  • Occasionally taking furniture apart in order to collect or deliver from the house.
  • Unpacking the van and offloading into the warehouse. Helping to keep the warehouse organised, tidy and clean.

Cook (Under 18s if Parent accompanies them)

New Starts

A volunteer to cook on one day per week, (either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday – or all 3 days if possible). The meals are cooked from scratch and are relatively simple such as chilli con carne, cheese pie & salad, lasagne etc.


Lego master (12+)

Redditch Library

A volunteer to help run the popular afterschool Lego club for children 4+ every Monday from 4-5pm.


Volunteer Centre Assistant (14+)

Bromsgrove and Redditch Network (BARN)

  • Contacting other charities to discuss their volunteering opportunities and uploading them on the system.
  • Matching potential volunteers with local roles.
  • Assisting the work of the Volunteer Centre using web-based systems and databases.
  • Answering the telephone, speaking to volunteer applicants and liaising with local charities.
  • General PC use (e.g. using Email, Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet). Occasional support at events.

Front of House Volunteer (16+)

Palace Theatre/Rubicon Leisure

  • To provide Front of House cover for the shows at the Palace Theatre. To check patrons tickets and direct to their seats.
  • To help patrons with any problems or questions they may have when they visit the theatre.
  • To help and assist in the event of a fire evacuation.
  • Ensuring all fire exits are kept clear.
